Two registered nurses. Two clinical backgrounds. One shared standard for aesthetics education.
KC Academy HQ is the collaboration of Nurse Chelsea Naylor and Nurse Katie Mitchell. Together they bring more than 20 years of experience across aesthetics, cosmetics and medical services, combining adult nursing and mental health nursing perspectives.
Both continue to work in their own clinics while teaching at KC. Students learn the reasoning behind each treatment as well as the practical technique, with an emphasis on safe decisions and confidence in clinic.
A mental health nurse since 2014 and aesthetics practitioner since 2015, Chelsea brings clinical teaching, treatment experience and a particular interest in the psychological side of aesthetics. She also leads Luxure Aesthetics. Read Chelsea’s story.
Katie is an adult nurse, aesthetics educator and the founder of KatieLM Aesthetics & SPMU. Her background spans cosmetic and medical tattooing as well as aesthetic practice. Read Katie’s story.
Chelsea qualified as a mental health nurse in 2014. With a lifelong creative streak and encouragement from a nursing mentor, she took the leap into aesthetics in 2015. That decision grew into Luxure Aesthetics, her own clinic and academy, alongside her work with Katie at KC Academy HQ.
She holds two teaching qualifications and has trained in SPMU and laser treatments. Lips and non-surgical rhinoplasty are among her favourite treatments. Her clinic has been recognised as a runner-up for Clinic of the Year, and Chelsea has placed third among aesthetic practitioners in Yorkshire.

Katie began her career in cosmetic tattooing before moving into medical tattooing, work she values for the difference it can make to people’s lives. Her ambition to practise aesthetics and build a training school led her to complete an adult nursing degree, qualify in aesthetics and gain a teaching qualification.
Her own training showed her how much support matters after a course ends. That experience shaped her approach at KC Academy HQ: practical teaching, a network trainees can turn to and opportunities to revisit skills as their confidence grows.

Core anatomy and physiology, complications awareness and thoughtful treatment planning form part of the learning journey.
Teaching combines theory with supervised hands-on work and live models where appropriate to the course.
Guidance can extend into case discussions, the client experience and the practical realities of building an aesthetics business.
